Anniversary of the holiday

Today the people of Drakonberg are celebrating for the fifth time a not quite ordinary holiday: Territories Day. We talked at length about the role of territories in the life of micronations three years ago in our LiveJournal. We recommend reading it!

And today we will remind you about our holiday, how it appeared, what its meaning is and what has changed in the life of the country with its appearance.

However, you can also go back 5 years and read our post about the relevant decision of the Government.

Unlike many virtual states, Drakonberg was initially strictly tied to the territory of its location in accordance with the Constitution of the state. A state without a territory is not really a state, although there are similar precedents in the real world (the Order of Malta, for example).

So, Drakonberg had its own territory from the very beginning. Nevertheless, we didn't have such a holiday, because the territory of the state was taken for granted. But things are changing!

In 2019, for the first time in many years of not only our state, but also our ancient lineage, the state's territory was enlarged with funds from the Historical Fund.

Five years have passed since then. The new land has been significantly improved, although work is still ongoing. Last year the elements caused some damage, but the citizens of Drakonberg quickly and smoothly eliminated all the consequences.

The celebration is traditionally held modestly, without inviting foreign guests, as it is considered an internal affair of Drakonberg and serves to unite the citizens even more. After all, it is the territory of the country that is the main uniting factor, in addition to kinship, cultural and other ties between the inhabitants.

We hope that there will be many more such anniversaries in the life of Drakonberg, and the territory of any state is always striving to expand. Let it be so!
